Sukey’s orginal text on their ‘Warning for idiots’ page:
Warning For Idiots
Sukey is a tool to keep peaceful protestors safe and mobile.
If you want to protest peacefully then Sukey will help to keep you safe.
If you come along to demonstrations intent on rioting, causing damage, fighting cops, or just generally being an anti-social idiot then Sukey is not for you.
Be aware that although we at Sukey ensure that any data you send to us is stored anonymously, the link between you and us is managed by third parties such as your mobile phone provider – who are not nearly as secure. Each phone service provider will have its own policy on data but they are all legally obliged to keep their data for about a year. That’s every number you dial, every text you send, every tweet you make – regardless of whether it involves your participation in protests or is just asking your mum how her arthritis is.
Although your Sukey data is safe, the infrastructure companies have well established channels to provide their data to the police where the police believe it might assist them in their investigation of serious crimes.
For those mischief makers out there who are paranoid about police investigation or surveillance of mobile phone communications, there is a wealth of information out there for you on the internet – but unless you’re reading this from inside a jail cell then you probably knew that already. One such site (Spy Blog) has published a blog considering the dangers of the use of a mobile application such as Sukey by those who have something to hide. The blog is somewhat doom-laden and cynical, and contains a few factual inaccuracies about Sukey, but the writer appears to be passionate about mobile phone security, writes from the heart, and uses some impressive sounding terminology. Spy Blog is not affiliated with Sukey – it’s just something we stumbled on.
For all peaceful protesters – remember: stay sensible, stay safe.

Sukey have now edited their idiot warning page to this: http://www.sukey.org/idiotwarning
Perhaps in future Sukey will edit their website to say “if you come to demonstrations intent on causing violence and harm to school children, people in wheelchairs and newspaper vendors walking away with his hands in his pocket who was never part of the demonstration in the first place” and reconsider their previous conversations with high ranking police officials, who they seem more than willing to assist, maybe then we’ll reconsider which side Sukey feel most comfortable on.
